Ele se encontra entre os elementos iodo e c\u00e9sio.<br \/>\nO <strong>xen\u00f4nio<\/strong> \u00e9 um g\u00e1s nobre, assim como os outros elementos da <a href=\"http:\/\/quiprocura.net\/w\/portfolio-item\/descricao-das-familias-da-tabela-periodica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fam\u00edlia 8A<\/a>. Estes elementos s\u00e3o conhecidos como inertes, ou seja, n\u00e3o reagem espontaneamente com outros elementos, sendo assim, compostos destes elementos n\u00e3o s\u00e3o encontrados na natureza.<\/p>\n<p>O <a href=\"http:\/\/quiprocura.net\/w\/2016\/11\/29\/historico-dos-elementos-quimicos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>xen\u00f4nio<\/strong> foi descoberto em 1898<\/a>, por Willian Ramsay e Travers, na Inglaterra. O seu nome deriva do grego x\u00e9nos, que significa estrangeiro. Ele \u00e9 um g\u00e1s raro, encontrado no <strong>ar atmosf\u00e9rico<\/strong>, em pequenas propor\u00e7\u00f5es e isolado.<br \/>\nO xen\u00f4nio \u00e9 utilizado em tubos de descargas (tubo de g\u00e1s n\u00e9on) nos quais \u00e9 produzida uma cor azul esverdeado.<\/p>\n<p>Neil Bartlett, em 1962, estudando o PtF<sub>6<\/sub>, observou que o <strong>xen\u00f4nio<\/strong> reagia com o este composto, dando origem \u00e0 v\u00e1rios compostos de xen\u00f4nio.
