A clorofila \u00e9 importante, pois ela \u00e9 verde e possui a capacidade de absorver a luz do Sol na regi\u00e3o do vis\u00edvel, sendo isso devido ao grande sistema conjugado que possui. Os \u00e1tomos de carbono do anel contribuem com apenas quatro <strong>el\u00e9trons &#8220;pi&#8221;<\/strong> e por isto o nitrog\u00eanio, hibridizado em sp\u00b2 deve contribuir com dois el\u00e9trons para a forma\u00e7\u00e3o do sexteto arom\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n<p>No caso do furano e do tiofeno, eles s\u00e3o parecidos estruturalmente com o pirrol, sendo o oxig\u00eanio e o enxofre tamb\u00e9m hibridizado em sp\u00b2. Nos dois compostos o orbital p do oxig\u00eanio ou do enxofre, doa dois el\u00e9trons para o <strong>sistema &#8220;pi&#8221;<\/strong>. Os hetero\u00e1tomos do furano e do tiofeno t\u00eam um par de el\u00e9trons n\u00e3o compartilhados em um orbital sp\u00b2 que \u00e9 perpendicular ao sistema de el\u00e9trons pi.<\/p>\n<p>Alguns compostos arom\u00e1ticos tamb\u00e9m t\u00eam grande import\u00e2ncia na vida dos seres vivos, assim como os compostos heteroc\u00edclicos.
