Quais as suas fun\u00e7\u00f5es?<\/p>\n<p>O termo <strong>prote\u00edna<\/strong> deriva do grego <span class=\"SpellE\"><i>prote\u00edos<\/i><\/span>, &#8220;que tem prioridade&#8221;, &#8220;o mais importante&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>As prote\u00ednas s\u00e3o consideradas as macromol\u00e9culas mais importantes das c\u00e9lulas. E para muitos organismos, constituem quase 50% de suas massas.<\/p>\n<p>As <strong>prote\u00ednas<\/strong> s\u00e3o formadas a partir da uni\u00e3o de muitos amino\u00e1cidos. Elas possuem diversas fun\u00e7\u00f5es nos mais diversos organismos. A partir disso, pode-se notar que as prote\u00ednas n\u00e3o s\u00e3o somente as mais abundantes macromol\u00e9culas, mas tamb\u00e9m, s\u00e3o muito importantes para a vida.\u00a0 <span class=\"GramE\">As milhares<\/span> de enzimas que um organismo possui s\u00e3o todas prote\u00ednas com fun\u00e7\u00f5es importantes. As informa\u00e7\u00f5es gen\u00e9ticas, por exemplo, s\u00e3o expressas atrav\u00e9s de prote\u00ednas.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"576\">\n<h3><strong>Amino\u00e1cido<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Estrutura elementar de uma prote\u00edna. Em todos os amino\u00e1cidos s\u00e3o encontradas, pelo menos, duas fun\u00e7\u00f5es org\u00e2nicas, um \u00e1cido carbox\u00edlico e uma amina, ligadas a um mesmo \u00e1tomo de carbono (carbono alfa), que tamb\u00e9m se liga a um \u00e1tomo de hidrog\u00eanio (H) e um radical carb\u00f4nico.<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/quiprocura.net\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/aminoacido-generico.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/center><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/quiprocura.net\/w\/2015\/08\/24\/proteina-nao-e-exatamente-carne\/\" target=\"_blank\">Prote\u00edna n\u00e3o \u00e9 exatamente carne!<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As <strong>prote\u00ednas<\/strong>, como dito, s\u00e3o formadas a partir da combina\u00e7\u00e3o de amino\u00e1cidos. Entretanto, s\u00f3 existem 20 amino\u00e1cidos prim\u00e1rios, a partir dos quais s\u00e3o formados outros amino\u00e1cidos e <span class=\"GramE\">as milhares<\/span> de prote\u00ednas. Mas, <span class=\"GramE\">o qu\u00ea as diferenciam<\/span>? Uma prote\u00edna tem fun\u00e7\u00e3o de defesa (anticorpos, veneno de serpentes), outra, fun\u00e7\u00e3o de reserva <span class=\"GramE\">( <\/span><span class=\"SpellE\">ovoalbumina<\/span>, encontrada no ovo, case\u00edna, encontrada no leite) e outras, a fun\u00e7\u00e3o estrutural (queratina, col\u00e1geno). Qual a diferen\u00e7a entre elas?<\/p>\n<p>A diferen\u00e7a \u00e9 a <span class=\"SpellE\">seq\u00fc\u00eancia<\/span> na qual os amino\u00e1cidos se organizam. A partir dessa\u00a0<span class=\"SpellE\">sequ\u00eancia<\/span> de organiza\u00e7\u00e3o dos <strong>20 amino\u00e1cidos<\/strong> \u00e9 que a fun\u00e7\u00e3o se destaca.<\/p>\n<p>Os <strong>amino\u00e1cidos prim\u00e1rios<\/strong> s\u00e3o: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/glicina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">glicina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/alanina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">alanina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/valina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">valina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/leucina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leucina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/isoleucina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">isoleucina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/fenilalanina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fenilalanina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/triptofano.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">triptofano<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/serina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">serina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/treonina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">treonina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/tirosina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tirosina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/ac_aspartico.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00e1cido asp\u00e1rtico<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/ac_glutamico.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00e1cido glut\u00e2mico<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/lisina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lisina<\/a>,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/arginina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">arginina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/histidina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">histidina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/metionina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">metionina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/cisteina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ciste\u00edna<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/cistina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cistina<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/asparagina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Asparagina<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/glutamina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">glutamina <\/a>e <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quiprocura.net\/prot_arquivos\/hidroxilisina.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hidroxilisina<\/a>\u00a0s\u00e3o deriva\u00e7\u00f5es de outros amino\u00e1cidos.<\/p>\n<p>A combina\u00e7\u00e3o destes amino\u00e1cidos possibilita 10<sup>11<\/sup> ou mais poss\u00edveis <span class=\"SpellE\">sequ\u00eancias<\/span> de <strong>amino\u00e1cidos<\/strong>, ou melhor, prote\u00ednas. Dos 23 amino\u00e1cidos, alguns s\u00e3o essenciais, ou seja, n\u00e3o s\u00e3o produzidos pelos organismos. Para o homem, 10 s\u00e3o <span class=\"GramE\"><strong>essenciais\u00a0<\/strong>(<\/span>valina, leucina, isoleucina <span class=\"SpellE\">fenilalanina<\/span>, <span class=\"SpellE\">triptofano<\/span>, treonina, lisina, arginina, histidina e\u00a0<span class=\"SpellE\">metionina<\/span>). Eles s\u00e3o necess\u00e1rios ao organismo e devem ser ingeridos, atrav\u00e9s da alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o, por exemplo.<\/p>\n<p>As principais fontes de prote\u00ednas s\u00e3o as carnes (de frango, de peixe e de boi), os ovos, os latic\u00ednios (leites, queijos e <span class=\"SpellE\">iogurtes<\/span>) e as leguminosas (feij\u00e3o, soja, lentilha). Como cada alimento possui alguns tipos de amino\u00e1cidos e n\u00e3o outros, a necessidade de uma alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o diversificada \u00e9 e<span class=\"SpellE\">ssencial<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Como dito, as <strong>prote\u00ednas<\/strong> possuem muitas<strong> fun\u00e7\u00f5es biol\u00f3gicas<\/strong>, entre elas, as enzimas, as prote\u00ednas transportadoras, de reserva, estruturais e de defesa. Alguns exemplos de prote\u00ednas s\u00e3o:<\/p>\n<h3><b>Enzimas<br \/>\n<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Prote\u00ednas altamente especializadas e com atividade catal\u00edtica. Um exemplo \u00e9 a <strong>hemoglobina<\/strong>, respons\u00e1vel pelo transporte de oxig\u00eanio dos pulm\u00f5es aos outros \u00f3rg\u00e3os e tecidos.<\/p>\n<h3><b>Prote\u00ednas Contr\u00e1teis ou de movimento<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>S\u00e3o elas as respons\u00e1veis pela fun\u00e7\u00e3o de contra\u00e7\u00e3o de algumas c\u00e9lulas. S\u00e3o elas, tamb\u00e9m, as respons\u00e1veis pela mudan\u00e7a de forma e movimento de algumas c\u00e9lulas. Exemplos deste tipo de prote\u00edna s\u00e3o a <span class=\"SpellE\">actina<\/span> e a miosina, que est\u00e3o presentes no sistema contr\u00e1til de m\u00fasculos esquel\u00e9ticos.<\/p>\n<h3><b>Prote\u00ednas Estruturais<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>S\u00e3o prote\u00ednas que servem para dar firmeza e prote\u00e7\u00e3o <span class=\"GramE\">\u00e0<\/span> organismos. Um exemplo muito comum deste tipo de prote\u00edna \u00e9 o col\u00e1geno, altamente encontrado em cartilagem e tend\u00f5es, sendo bastante resistente \u00e0 tens\u00e3o. Unhas\u00a0 e cabelos s\u00e3o formados, basicamente, por queratina, <span class=\"GramE\">um outro<\/span> tipo de prote\u00edna estrutural.<\/p>\n<h3><b>Prote\u00ednas de defesa<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>S\u00e3o prote\u00ednas com fun\u00e7\u00e3o de defesa de organismos contra invas\u00f5es de outras esp\u00e9cies. Exemplo disso<span class=\"GramE\">, s\u00e3o<\/span> os leuc\u00f3citos (gl\u00f3bulos brancos, anticorpos), prote\u00ednas especializadas com fun\u00e7\u00e3o de reconhecer e neutralizar v\u00edrus, bact\u00e9rias e outras prote\u00ednas estranhas.<\/p>\n<p>Fibrinog\u00eanio e trombina s\u00e3o outras prote\u00ednas\u00a0 respons\u00e1veis pela coagula\u00e7\u00e3o do sangue e preven\u00e7\u00e3o de perda sangu\u00ednea em casos de cortes e machucados.<\/p>\n<p>Al\u00e9m dessas prote\u00ednas, existem v\u00e1rias outras, com fun\u00e7\u00f5es <span class=\"GramE\">o mais diversificadas poss\u00edveis<\/span>.
